Mission Statement
To protect the Hawaiian sea turtles through education, public awareness and conservation in the Spirit of Aloha.
About Us
Malama na Honu (Protect the Turtles) is a tax exempt non profit entity that was created in 2007. It came about as successor organization to the "Show Turtles Aloha" campaign, started by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Marine Turtle Research Program in 2005. Every day of the year, Honu Guardian volunteers are on the beach, providing educational outreach to beach visitors. All of the volunteers share in the enthusiasm to protect our Hawaiian green sea turtles, enhance the public viewing of these wonderful creatures and provide research monitoring of their daily behavior.
If you are interested in helping the Honu at Laniakea via donation or volunteering your time at the beach as a Honu Guardian, please visit: Volunteer Donate
